Kiyoshi Sonobe "Memories by the Water - Focusing on the 1950s"

JCII Photo Salon
Finished
This exhibition primarily showcases the 1950s photographs of Kiyoshi Sonobe, highlighting the water-themed remnants of Tokyo. The photos capture scenes of lively activity, including people waiting for boats at Tsukuda Ferry, commuters boarding the Sumida River water bus, cherry blossom viewing along the riverside, Sumiyoshi Shrine festivals, and the construction of the Nihonbashi River alongside the expressway development. Additionally, the exhibition includes images from Sonobe's nationwide research trips, providing insight into cultural life intertwined with the environment. There are 62 works, all in black and white.
