Biscuit Gallery, a contemporary commercial art gallery located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is pleased to present “small, everyday wonders,” a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Cocona Murayama, opening on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Murayama’s practice centers on familiar contemporary forms, as well as the movements and trajectories that surround them. Working across sculpture, photography, and drawing, she continues to explore these motifs through a multifaceted approach. Grounded in formal theories and color compositions established in art history, her work merges existing forms with geometric shapes, offering new perspectives and possibilities for dialogue within landscapes we often overlook as already familiar.
The theme of “small, everyday wonders” is the subtle moments of wonder, mystery, and emotion hidden within everyday life—those small, unexpected experiences that gently move us.
Through wooden works and drawings created as part of her artistic process, this exhibition gives form to the subtle fluctuations embedded in daily life. It is our hope that the fragments of the world captured by Cocona Murayama will intersect with the everyday lives of viewers, leading to new moments of awareness and discovery.
