Settai Komura
Born in Kawagoe, Saitama, Komura Settai (1887–1940) was a versatile artist active from the Taisho period to the early Showa period, working across book design, illustration, stage design, and Japanese painting.

Featuring Settai’s major works, this exhibition looks at the artist’s career through the relationships that shaped it. Connections with novelists, publishers, actors, and fellow artists reveal how Settai’s distinctive world of art came into being.
