Artists

Kuniyoshi Uetake
Kuniyoshi Uetake (1928-2013) began his career as a painter in the midst of the postwar realism art movement.

From the 1960s onward, he took as his subject matter incidents symbolic of the times, such as the Security Treaty and school conflicts, while at the same time mixing his memories of the war and his attachment to motifs such as topography and architecture to create a dynamic world in which details proliferate and repeat themselves. This is the first exhibition to introduce the entire picture of this unknown painter associated with Fuchu.
