Le Corbusier— Paintings by a Master Architect

Ginza Tsutaya Books
Until Aug 27
Celebrated as one of the defining architects of the 20th century, Le Corbusier designed landmarks such as Villa Savoye and the Chapel of Notre Dame du Haut, both now part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Less widely known, however, is that alongside a remarkable architectural career, Le Corbusier painted every morning throughout an entire lifetime.

This exhibition explores this lesser-known aspect of Le Corbusier's practice through a selection of rare prints and drawings, revealing painting as a lasting source of creative inspiration. Highlights include the evolution of two original works and the creation of the celebrated masterpiece Le Poème de l'Angle Droit, tracing the artistic journey behind one of modern architecture's most influential figures.
