Legacy— Inheriting Beauty: Modigliani, Chagall, Picasso, Fujita

Matsuoka Museum of Art
Finished
The exhibition showcases a dynamic spectrum of artistic expressions from early 20th-century Paris, drawing from the museum's rich collection. It immerses visitors in the vibrant milieu of the École de Paris, a melting pot of foreign artists, alongside influential movements like Fauvism, Cubism, and Surrealism. Exploring the profound influence of Japanese writers on Parisian art, it highlights their enduring legacy. Of special note is the eagerly awaited return, after a decade, of works by Giorgio De Chirico and Paul Delvaux, seminal figures in Surrealism. Complementing these treasures are sculptures by Bourdelle and Henry Moore from the museum's permanent collection, offering fresh insights into their artistic brilliance.
