Makoto Ogiso graduated from the Department of Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, and has received numerous awards, including the Prime Minister's Prize at the 90th Hakuhikai Exhibition, the 41st Showa-kai Showa-kai Prize, and the Museum Director's Prize at the 1st Hoki Museum Grand Prize Exhibition, and has attracted attention in the art world as a talented realistic painter. This exhibition features approximately 100 works, including oil paintings, watercolors, and even a student's croquis, and introduces his entire career to date.
Ogiso has consistently focused on nature and the freshness of life illuminated by the abundant and beautiful light. His eyes and brush are full of power as if he is trying to depict the essence of his subjects, transcending realism or even reality.
