Artists

Makoto Wada
When Makoto Wada was in his 20s, he produced posters for the Shinjuku Nikkatsu Meiga-za Theater, which was located in the Shinjuku Marui location for about nine years, free of charge. It was a request from the president of Saito Process, a silk-screen printing company that he had often visited while a student at Tama Art University through the introduction of Kiyoshi Awazu and Kohei Sugiura.

The work in this exhibition is a new silkscreen print of the original poster for the legendary "Persona Exhibition" held in 1965 at the Nikkatsu Meiga-za Theater in Shinjuku.

A retrospective exhibition is currently being held at the museum "Eki" Kyoto (~June 18). The "Shinjuku Nikkatsu Meiga-za" poster is also on display.
