Marina Le Gall
The gallery Nokogiri will host a solo exhibition by French ceramicist/painter Marina Le Gall. This exhibition marks her second solo show in Japan and her first focused on paintings.

Le Gall's paintings capture landscapes with an instantaneous and detached perspective, akin to photos taken by reconnaissance drones or animal-like androids. They refuse to be judged by the human brain and reject any assessment based on accumulated experience. Whether it be death or life, there is neither profound sorrow nor particular joy. Humans step back, observing the natural flow of events while sensing the great force and faint scent of blood in the background. She states that painting nature and animals is not about following a coherent storyline but about accepting contradictions. Only humans care about stories and contradictions. Her paintings exist beyond these concerns, with the human body, now an empty shell, drenched in paint like spattered blood, becoming a sculpture.
