Artists

Mark Dean Veca
Mark Dean Veca is known for his paintings, drawings, and installations in a style inspired by psychedelic, traditional, and decorative patterns, drawing on images from cartoons and pop culture. Like ivy covering the main house, the myriad delicate outlines of his work erode concreteness, elevating figurative expression to something even more ambiguous and abstract.

For this solo exhibition, Veca will hold a public performance of his mural (October 24-27). The interior and exterior of the gallery will be filled with Veca's murals. The exhibition will explore the context of Veka's American contemporary art in the context of the Edo culture of "signboard culture" and ukiyo-e, and attempt to pursue and fuse the two.

In addition to the display and sale of new original paintings and limited edition prints created especially for this exhibition, the gallery will also offer merchandise such as T-shirts available only at this exhibition. The opening reception will be held on October 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The artist will be in the gallery.
