葡萄 is pleased to present Seven, a solo exhibition by Marsi Rex. Marsi Rex (@marsirex ) is a London based painter of Albanian origin. Seven marks her first solo exhibition in Japan. Often working while in transit, Rex draws from her experience of migration and the wry sensibility it has engendered. She “finds resonance in cities’ exteriors and graffiti, and other pedestrian forms, and other modest everyday forms. Naive in appearance yet subject to wear, transfer, and gradual deterioration as they pass between owners, these objects embody a fractured condition of belonging. Through them, Rex explores a tender madness situated between love and sorrow.The exhibition brings together a selection of recent drawings and paintings, including works that reflect her ongoing investigations into new approaches to the canvas.
