Masaho Anotani was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1991. Influenced by information about the world he perceives in her daily life, as well as observations and sensations she gains from nature, he creates a variety of works including paintings, drawings, collages, performances, and photographs. His work has been featured on Comme des Garcons Shirt and he has collaborated with rock bands Happy and Mars89, among others.
In this exhibition, the artist's first in Shikoku, Center/Sanuki will consist of two-dimensional works plus a group of smaller works, while Syndicate will be an experimental spatial composition based on two-dimensional works. Anotani's work, which seems to celebrate the energy and mystery inherent in life itself, will make viewers aware of the fact that such energy and mystery exist within them as well.
An opening event will be held on Saturday, June 24, the first day of the exhibition. The event will consist of two parts: a performance by the artist at Syndicate in the evening, followed by a reception with the artist at Center/Sanuki. On the following day, June 25 (Sun), a drawing workshop will be held at Center/Sanuki as part of the opening. The same workshop will be held at Syndicate on July 23 (Sun.), the closing day.
