Mika Kitamura has found a unique way of expressing her "unspoken feelings" by symbolizing them visually and stitching them back together after a period of time. Her first solo exhibition, "Stratified and Thereafter, Preserved," is a record of the artist's private code, and at the same time, a process of moving forward in the artist's own life.
This exhibition will feature six works created by Kitamura from around 2017 to the present. Only everyday tools such as paper, ballpoint pens, and thread are used in the creation of the work. Kitamura's work expresses the "real” that is so often overlooked in the modern age.
