For those of us who are also housewives, both neighborhood association work and artwork are daily activities, and both are important communities and places to be. The art community is a place where people exchange ideas that are meaningless to the outside world, and the neighborhood association is a place where people are tested on their dialogue skills and ability to avoid friction and conflict. What is a being “Independent”? Miyuki Ichijo, who has now reached an age where she can no longer remain innocent, hides words or embodies them in her works to show the “Independent” in human society, which she can now depict through her familiarity with old age and illness. Sanae Murata, who thinks about everyday life or social changes and activities that are connected to herself and who she is, stitches the words to the T-shirts to write down and passes them to her friends. Before our hands and words lose their freedom, as if turning a circular notice or sharing vegetables from our family homes, we enjoy the interaction and the exchange of daily life and the occasional leap forward.
