Monster Vol. 2 - Mayuno Kobayashi × Shoko Mihara

Shikisaisha
Finished

Artists

Mayuno Kobayashi, Shoko Mihara
Shikisaisha will hold the second installment of the exhibition "Monster" featuring two artists who create works with monsters as motifs.

Mayuno Kobayashi uses traditional Japanese painting techniques to embody the fluid images in her mind, such as thoughts, daily life, emotions, memories, etc., turning them into animals or monsters. She expresses them as inhabitants of her mind.

Shoko Mihara transforms people and events witnessed in daily life, personal experiences, her complexes, societal phenomena, and events happening in the world into monsters in her mind and represents them. Mihara uses a technique called "burner work," which involves placing a type of reinforced glass called borosilicate glass in a burner flame and melting it to form the motif.
