Museum Collection II - The Illustrated World of Magazines: Sekai and Kurashi-no-techo

Setagaya Art Museum
Finished
The magazines Sekai (published by Iwanami Shoten) and Kurashi-no-techo (Kurashi-no-techosha) were both launched immediately after World War II, and both are still published today. This exhibition presents a selection of original illustrations from the periodicals that are among the museum’s recent acquisitions. While Sekai featured work from a wide range of genres, including paintings, prints, sculptures, and contemporary art, Kurashi-no-techo was famously illustrated by Yasuji Hanamori.
