Kuma Gallery
Finished

Artists

Nana Shibuya
Painter Nana Shibuya, who studied Japanese painting and currently operates from a base in Yamagata. In her previous works, she has focused on the deconstruction and reconstruction of the forms of motifs such as animals and the human body, exploring the transformations of human existence and its spirituality through interactions with the external world. She has particularly used linear expressions that utilize background substrates and margins, but in her recent works, she aims for a more natural style by incorporating a drawing-based production method. Currently, she is presenting works focused on the discourse that "Neanderthals offered flowers to the dead." In this solo exhibition, she will exhibit approximately 40 paintings and drawings created since 2019.
