Vague Kobe is pleased to present ‘LO – The Inverted Glass and the Cane’, an exhibition by photographer Nao Tsuda.

For this exhibition, Tsuda travelled to Mustang, a restricted region in northern Nepal where the Himalayas rise dramatically into the sky, at the invitation of an anthropologist. There, he produced a new photographic series titled ‘LO’, presented here for the first time. Winds sweeping across arid land, overlapping mountain ridgelines, stupas standing as if absorbed into the landscape, and the layered clarity of air unique to high altitudes quietly emerge within the space of Vague Kobe, coalescing into a single, resonant landscape.

Alongside the photographic works, the exhibition also presents ‘The Inverted Glass and the Cane’, an installation composed of fragments Tsuda encountered and collected during his travels to Mustang. Layers of time accumulated in a land once traversed as a salt trade route rise into the space in dialogue with the photographs, gently evoking the presence of a distant landscape.
