New Year Exhibition

Chisoku Art Museum
Finished
This exhibition showcases vibrant and auspicious artworks befitting this season. Particularly noteworthy are various artworks depicting Mount Fuji, selected from the collection. Mount Fuji has been perceived as a symbol by artists alongside cherry blossoms, and it has been depicted as a motif in paintings from ancient times to the present.

Artists face Japan's highest peak, expressing their unique interpretations and representations through their artworks. In this exhibition, you will encounter a variety of Mount Fuji depictions, each reflecting the artist's distinctive expression and personality, portraying Mount Fuji with a dignified presence or a powerful life force.

In auxiliary exhibition room A, a collection of folk art and toys, including a gathered collection of giant Matryoshka dolls and large papier-mâché works is presented. Additionally, the exhibition will showcase various wooden artworks from around the world, demonstrating different ideas and creativity.

In auxiliary exhibition room B, sculptures exclusively carved from wood, featuring Watanabe Riki's "Group of Cats" and Spanish sculptor Riela i Aragó's fairy-tale painting "Propeller" will be displayed.
