New Year's Celebration at the Tokyo National Museum

Tokyo National Museum
Finished
Year 6 of Reiwa (2024) is the Year of the Dragon. The Dragon is the fifth sign in the Chinese zodiac, and it is associated with the mythical creature known as the dragon. Among the twelve animals assigned to the Chinese zodiac (referred to as the Twelve Heavenly Stems), the dragon is the only one that is imaginary. Originally a product of the rich imagination of ancient Chinese people, the image of the dragon has been widely accepted throughout East Asia.

This special feature presents the awe and delicate craftsmanship of the dragon through four themes. Enjoy works that skillfully breathe life into the dragon and witness the intricate forms of the dragon, ranging from powerful to humorous.
