Nodoka Odawara
As part of a community-participation art project that has been ongoing since 2008, the "Nodoka Odawara Tsunagi Project" was launched in 2023 with a two-year plan. In the first year, the "Sculpture Election," which treated 16 outdoor sculptures in Tsunagi Town as candidates, provided an opportunity for both local and non-local people to reflect on the act of "voting," a cornerstone of democracy. In the project's second year, the scope was expanded to further explore the stone statues of Tanokami in Tsunagi Town, monuments in Minamata City, and bronze statues based on manga scattered throughout Kumamoto Prefecture, with the cooperation of residents.

This exhibition, marking the culmination of the two-year project, will showcase the works created from these studies and will also feature a participatory work centered on the second volume of the "Tsunagi Town History," which, despite the first volume being published in 1993, has remained unpublished for over 30 years.
