Artists

Nyke
Nyke primarily creates and exhibits canvas works based on the techniques and sensibilities cultivated through graffiti. Graffiti originally involves drawing one's name in public spaces using spray paint or markers on the street. There are various terms within graffiti, such as the "tag," which is a single-color depiction of a name created in a few seconds, and the "piece," which involves multiple colors and extended time, adding complexity to the alphabet letters with characters and elements. One of the criteria for different names is the time spent on the work. Regardless of the time constraints imposed by drawing in public spaces, Nyke uses canvases to engage experimentally with materials, utilizing spray paint, pens, collage techniques, and acrylic paint, allowing for a more extended creation process. Nyke pursues a new style of work centered on the use of brightly colored materials, original characters, letters, and relatively new materials such as spray paint. In this exhibition, Nyke challenges themselves with new works over 1.6 meters in length and three-dimensional pieces using collage techniques.
