OVERGROUND is pleased to present OFF THE CLOCK, a solo exhibition by Ferdi Trihadi, an illustrator originally from Indonesia and currently based in Fukuoka, Japan.

Centered around his signature MONOMUSE series, this exhibition features works that capture quiet moments and modest gestures from everyday life—taking a sip of a drink, listening to music, floating on water. Ferdi renders these peaceful scenes with refined lines and monochromatic compositions, bringing out their subtle beauty through simplicity.

His work embodies clarity and calm, offering structured visuals that contain a sense of order and stillness. Rather than expressing emotions overtly, Ferdi invites focused contemplation through the tension of composition, the precision of line, and the use of space.

The title OFF THE CLOCK suggests a temporary detachment from work and societal obligations—a return to private time. Ferdi’s aim is to quietly illuminate the moments of introspection and rest that are so often neglected in our busy lives. In today’s world, taking time to tune in to our breath and emotions may no longer be a luxury—it may be essential.

Through Ferdi’s minimal yet intentional lines, we hope each viewer can take a moment to reconnect with their own pace, senses, and presence.
