From April 1st (Monday) to June 30th (Sunday) in 2024 (Reiwa 6), in conjunction with the "Fukuoka-Oita Destination Campaign," "Oita Cultural Expo! '24" will be held in various locations throughout the prefecture.
Cultural events featuring exhibitions by artists active both domestically and internationally will be held in four regions of the prefecture. These exhibitions will showcase new works conceived by the artists during their stay in each region. Additionally, new art maps will be created and distributed in the Kunisaki Peninsula, where works by world-renowned masters are concentrated, and in Taketa City, where creators are migrating.
During the event period, along with art appreciation, culture tours, including guided walks led by residents visiting artists' studios, and bus tours to experience the unique local food culture will be held.
Furthermore, "Special Curators!" have been set up on the expo website, where individuals involved in promoting culture throughout the prefecture will act as guides.
Locations: Oita City, Beppu City, Saiki City, Usuki City, Taketa City, Kunisaki Peninsula (Bungotakada City, Kunisaki City)
