The Noto Peninsula juts out from the center of Honshu into the Sea of Japan. Suzu is located at the tip of the peninsula. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, it is the "tip" of the peninsula, and its rich culture, including festivals and food, has been preserved.

The Okunoto International Art Festival has been gaining support from artists from Japan and abroad who have come to Suzu to express their work rooted in the locality.

This fall, the third "Okunoto International Art Festival 2023" will open. The contemporary art created through the collaboration of artists, citizens, and supporters will resonate with the climate of Okunoto, creating an experience of time and space that will shake all five senses.
