Ono-chan "Shaking Fancy"

Kameido Art Center
Finished

Artists

Ono-chan
In a pop style, Ono-chan creates unrealistic situations and mysterious scenes from daily collection of Internet images and photographs. For this exhibition, Ono-chan began making paper mache dolls, or nazoningyo, using the word "fancy" which is used in Japan to mean "cute" or "lovely." Both the Japanese and English interpretation of fancy reflect the artist's imaginative style. There will be 100 nazoningyo made of paper clay displayed alongside Ono-chan's two-dimensional work in this exhibition.
