Otoha Takenami was born in 1989 in Shizuoka, Japan, and after completing art school in 2012 and Palette Club School in 2019, she has been working as an illustrator on numerous door paintings and illustrations for books and magazines.
Takenami's paintings are characterized by casual daily scenes of buildings and plants she sees on the street, as well as pale colors that evoke the gentle glow of natural light. Fictitious creatures sometimes appear in these landscapes, evoking various stories from a single painting. In recent years, she has been actively working as an artist, participating in the group exhibition "Komunitas” (Gallery Towed, Sumida-ku, Tokyo) in February 2023, "When I Become a Fossil" (OF, Okayama City) in 2022, "Clouds” (Crispy Egg Gallery, Sagamihara City) in 2021, and "Bread Bakery and Painting # 14 Takenami Otowa” (TanneraumT, Nihonbashi) in 2021.
This exhibition will showcase work on the theme of insects and other small creatures as well as plants, and will also sell goods.
