3x3 Art Space is pleased to present Emberlight, a solo exhibition by PANG YAWEN. Taking as its starting point the image of fallen leaves drifting in the autumn wind, this exhibition reflects on the presence of things that are slowly disappearing, and on the memories that remain as traces. The artist entrusts leaves to glass, allowing them to transform through the subtle movement of heat. What once existed within the leaves gradually loses its form, remaining as ash suspended within the glass. The varying colors of ash from each leaf become evidence of nature’s former presence, as well as traces of time and change. Within the depth and transparency of glass, these remnants quietly settle, breathing like a faint light. Emberlight evokes the soft glow that lingers after something has burned away. Through the medium of glass, this exhibition explores the beauty held within disappearance, and the quiet presence that continues to exist beyond visible form.
