Project N 90 Yuiha Yamaguchi

Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery
Finished

Artists

Yuiha Yamaguchi
Yuiha Yamaguchi says that she does not see any meaning in the motifs she paints and that what is most important to her is the process of painting. Nevertheless, to the viewer, Yamaguchi's paintings show landscapes of towns, roads, and bodies of water, and the titles of her works are very specific, such as "Expressway" and "The Moon from Inside a Bus." Yamaguchi is constantly sketching the scenery that passes by outside the window when she is on a bus, and she repeats the process of seeing, memorizing, and painting the scenery that passes by in an instant.
