The collection of Ryutaro Takahashi, one of Japan's foremost collectors of contemporary art, will be exhibited along with works by Japanese painter Ryushi Kawabata at the Ryushi Memorial Museum. Takahashi's collection of over 3,000 pieces of contemporary Japanese art is called the "Takahashi Ryutaro Collection" and has been featured in various exhibitions in Japan and abroad.

Under the theme of “Ryushi Kawabata Plus One," this exhibition is a project that attempts to see what kind of resonance can be evoked by adding a contemporary artist to the collection in collaboration with the Ryutaro Takahashi Collection.

Juri Hamada, exhibiting in the first half of the exhibition, has created dynamic works based on her memories of spending her childhood in Indonesia, seeking the source of life in nature and land there. (2015), which is over 16 meters wide.

On the other hand, Reina Taniho, who will exhibit in the second half of the exhibition, creates works in which images of plants and marine life in extreme colors proliferate and expand, and this exhibition will include the large work "Ubusuna" (2017), the pair of works "Resonance/Collecting" (2018/2020), and a new silk book approximately 4 meters in length for this exhibition.

In this exhibition, which seeks to view Kawabata's work from a new perspective, two female artists who depict hymns of life will add new colors to the Ryushi Memorial Museum, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
