Valor Lab.
Until May 31

Artists

Sakura, Mijinko Michiko
“macropsia, micropsia” refers to a perceptual phenomenon in which objects—or even one’s own body—appear abnormally large or, conversely, smaller than they actually are. At times, we may wish to shrink ourselves and step into a dollhouse, yet feel our bodies expand beyond control; at other moments, even a teapot on a kitchen shelf seems just out of reach. We, too—though small—can feel our sense of scale shift depending on our mood in the course of everyday life. This body of work was created while moving back and forth between reality and a kind of wonderland.
