Sayama— Industrial City

Sayama City Museum
Until Sep 6
Sayama is an industrial city where manufacturing and abundant natural surroundings coexist. Home to major industrial complexes, including the Kawagoe–Sayama Industrial Park and the Sayama Industrial Park, the city has long been supported by its manufacturing sector. The automotive industry, in particular, including the Sayama Plant of Honda's Saitama Factory, has played a significant role in the city's development.

This exhibition explores what is made inside these automotive-related factories, introducing local manufacturers while offering a look inside the making of a car. Also on view are materials related to the Marukei Bus, which once operated in the city, along with vehicles such as the Honda N360, produced at the Sayama Plant, and other items that trace Sayama's history.

Through these displays, the exhibition reflects on the relationship between people and automobiles while considering the future of mobility.

*Please note that the Honda N360 on display differs in color from the vehicle shown in the exhibition visual.
