The National Film Archive of Japan will host a special screening, "Tomotaka Tasaka Retrospective," starting October 8. This event honors the rich history of Japanese cinema and celebrates Tomotaka Tasaka, a filmmaker known for sincere and humanistic films across various genres. Commemorating fifty years since the passing of Tasaka, the retrospective will showcase all existing works, along with related films and those praised by wartime filmmakers, totaling forty-one works across thirty-two programs. An accompanying exhibition will highlight the artistic journey of this influential filmmaker.
