Before the main building was established, there was a place called the "Mosaic Romantic Museum" in Kasahara Town, initiated by the Kasahara Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Local Industry Promotion Committee. This museum exhibited mosaic tiles collected with great enthusiasm by volunteers from the tile industry. The interior was filled with mosaic tiles gathered from various places, truly resembling a treasure trove of tiles. The main building was born with this collection as its foundation and has continued to this day.
This is also closely tied to contemplating the history of tiles. It involves examining past tiles, reassessing their current existence, and connecting them to the future. With this purpose in mind, the museum is inviting representatives from currently active companies to exhibit mosaic tiles that represent the present. Talks will be hosted where each company can share stories about the history and secrets of tiles, their company's efforts and commitments, and their outlook for the future.
