This exhibition focuses on characters from stories, folklore, and legend. Ukiyo-e depicting characters from not only Japanese folktales such as Kintaro and Taro Urashima but also foreign folktales such as Saiyuki and Aesop's Fables will also be on display.
Also on view are 17 works by Masanobu Okumura, Shigemasa Kitao, Shunsho Katsukawa, Kyosai Kawanabe, Zeshin Shibata, and others.
