Hokusai Katsushika
"Surimono" are woodblock prints made to order by private individuals. They were distributed among friends at New Year's and seasonal festivals and were also made to announce the birth, songs, or dances. This exhibition will explore the hidden charm of the surimono through the works from the museum collection.
