Swissnex in Japan presents Imagining Planetary Diplomacy, an exhibition exploring a new form of diplomacy that extends beyond human interests to encompass the planet’s living fabric. It invites reflection on how relationships of care and coexistence might help restore balance with the Earth.

As part of the Planetary Embassy in Japan, the exhibition draws on an open call that invited young researchers, innovators, and artists from around the world to imagine what a “planetary diplomacy” could mean. Four projects were selected from the international submissions.

The exhibition presents diverse visions of planetary coexistence. The works engage with the more-than-human world through spiritual ties to nature, systems of care across species, and imaginaries of futures in which the Earth is granted a voice. Together, they bring art, science, and ancestral knowledge into dialogue.

Organized by Swissnex in Japan with the support of Presence Switzerland, Imagining Planetary Diplomacy invites visitors to listen more closely to the Earth and to imagine shared futures grounded in mutual care.
