The first solo exhibition of designer and contemporary artist Taiga Takahashi, who passed away on April 9, 2022, will be held at Ryoshokuin, the pagoda of Kenninji Temple.
Kenninji Temple is a place that Takahashi frequented during his lifetime and that has continued to inspire his creations. The idea for this exhibition was born out of a conversation with Ryosokuin vice-abbot, with whom Takahashi had long been friends. The exhibition at Ryosokuin, the pagoda of Kenninji Temple, is also a Buddhist concept of the "Paradise of the Pure Land," in other words, a memorial service for Taiga Takahashi. To commemorate this exhibition, an installation entitled "Mirror of Time" will be exhibited in the "T.T." art space, which transcends time and continues to live from the past to the present and from the present to the future.
In addition, an exhibition "Texture from Textile Vol. 2: Clothes of Time - Taiga Takahashi's Vintage Collection" will be held at Hosoo Gallery from the same period, showing a part of the vintage collection that Takahashi collected and used as a template for his own brand.
