Galerie Geek Art is an Indo-Japanese contemporary art gallery headquartered in Tokyo and Delhi. We aim to bring the spotlight on the diverse and captivating voices of contemporary Asian art.
With a focus on amplifying the narratives of Asian countries, we aim to connect the global community with the nuanced artistic practices of the region.

The exchange between Japan and India began about 1200 years ago through Buddhism and has since had a profound impact on the cultures and philosophies of both countries.
This cultural exchange has enriched both nations in areas such as academia, technology, and the arts. In recent years, the relationship has become even closer as a strategic partnership.

"Identity (ID)," our curated exhibition series, is a testament to this enduring bond, serving as a platform for Asian artists to delve into the diverse realms of self-expression.
We take it as our mantle to uplift Asian voices and actively promote diverse identities across the continent, aiding in their development. Through the exhibition of artworks by Asian artists,
we invite viewers to explore the intricate ways in which Asian artists articulate and express their identities, embarking on a journey of discovery and to create a deeper appreciation of how identities are formed and evolved through time and place.

Our first exhibition 'Freeform' by Takeru Iwazaki showcases an artist who explores nature in Japan—a place where beauty and harshness exist together, often facing natural disasters.

Iwazaki creates a series of works known as the ORIGM (origami) series using his unique technique. He begins by drawing freely flowing curves on paper,
then folds it like origami, and faithfully transfers the shape onto wooden panels, transforming it into an original series of three-dimensional artworks.
Each piece has a unique shape, expressing a reverence for the infinite diversity of water, clouds, natural organisms, and seashells.
This reflects not only a fascination with nature's law that no two forms are identical but also embodies Iwazaki's own philosophy of forging one's path without being constrained by preconceived notions.
These works also evoke traditional Japanese ink painting and Zen teachings, with the simplicity of monochrome revealing profound inner depths.
The current exhibition showcases Iwazaki's perfected techniques and presents a new set of three deformed panels, advancing to the next level.
These works embody the natural imperfection and Zen philosophy of 'harmony in imbalance,' contrasting meticulously detailed depictions with the texture of vigorous brushwork, thereby emphasizing the presence of the artworks and encouraging introspection and dialogue among viewers.
