Ten_do_ten has been working as a pixel designer since 2001. He started his career as a pixel designer in 2001 when he exhibited mobile pixel graphics with Tadanori Yokoo and Obey Giant at "The End", the official i-mode site of Hajime Tachibana, who is associated with " Prefab", the gallery that is the parent company of “ Platform.”
When Ten_do_ten was in junior high school, he first encountered pixels on his father's microcomputer and began creating pixel art. After studying under Gento Matsumoto at Musashino Art University, he joined Delaware in 1995 and left in 2001.
Ten_do_ten has created more than 24,000 pieces of pixel art. This " Platform" exhibition will feature the “Charagramy" series, a development of the previous “Charagraphy" exhibition.
“Charagramy" is a calligraphic mix of the previous “Charagraphy," in which Dot's beloved characters from the East and West are calligraphy-like, and “Charagramy" is a geometric pixel pattern "diagram pattern" originating from "knitting," "weaving" and "embroidery" that he has been pursuing since the beginning of his career.
This is an attempt to create a new form of art by mixing geometric pixel patterns, "diagram patterns," which originated from "knitting," "weaving," and "embroidery," with calligraphy.
Visitors can experience a space filled with “Platform" on canvases large and small with pixel art unique to Ten_do_ten, who has been presenting works using pixel data daily since before the spread of digital art.
In addition, at the same time as this exhibition, “Ten_do_ten: Portrait Calm & Punk Book #2", an art book featuring “Calligraphic Portrait", which is the origin of this exhibition, will be published by Calm & Punk Gallery of Gas as Interface Co. The art book featuring “Calligraphic Portrait" will be on sale at “Platform."
