Shibuya Kurodatoen
Finished
Terumasa Ikeda is an artist known for the innovative use of mother-of-pearl in traditional Japanese lacquer art, a tradition that dates back centuries. Inspired by ornamental work on historical buildings from various countries, the artist embarked on a series in 2016 that blends modern machinery with traditional craftsmanship. In recent years, Ikeda has also unveiled works that feature mother-of-pearl craftsmanship on obi belts. This exhibition highlights Ikeda's unique creations.
