The Japan Traditional “Kogei” Art Crafts Exhibition was established in 1954 with the aim of developing and passing on world-class craft techniques born in the Japanese climate. The exhibition aims to build new techniques and new expressions that are suited to today's life, based on traditional “workmanship." The Hiroshima Exhibition will feature approximately 280 works from the ceramic, weaving and dyeing, lacquerware, metalwork, wood and bamboo crafts, dolls, and other crafts categories, including eight works by Hiroshima-based artists.
