Artists

Eikichi Iwata
Eikichi Iwata (1929–1982) is a key artist in the collection, recognized for mastery of European painting traditions and realistic still lifes featuring dolls. In youth, there was a focus on landscape painting, characterized by a non-observational and non-realistic approach. This exhibition explores the significance of landscape in Iwata's work through eight student pieces, 27 later landscape sketches and oils from the early 30s in France, along with additional works and photographs.
