The Battle Has Arrived— Okinawa War Prints Collection

Urasoe Art Museum
Finished
June is the month of remembrance of the Battle of Okinawa. Every year, the Urasoe Art Museum holds this exhibition as part of a project to reflect on anti-war peace. The exhibition features 25 large prints by Hiroshi Gima, a printmaker representing Okinawa, and texts by Yoshihiko Nakayama, who compiled a collection of testimonies from the Battle of Okinawa, published in 1979. All 25 large prints will be on display from Tuesday, June 4 to June 23. Additionally, on June 22, there will be a reading event by a stage reading group called Okinawa Kahi no Kai.
