今日まで人々は自身や他人、はたまた国などの安寧や期待、希望のために祈り、願いという行為をしてきました。その長い歴史の中で、祈りや願いの場や、神や仏など信仰の対象は絵画作品でも多く描かれました。本展覧会では、歌川広重や小林清親の浮世絵、栃木の日本画家・浄法寺高陽の作品から人々の信仰の姿を辿ります。
