Representing people and animals "as if they were moving" or "as if they were alive" has been a universal challenge in sculpture from ancient times. On the other hand, some works go beyond mere reproduction and pursuit of realism and transform the sculpture (or the space surrounding the sculpture) into a new life form. This exhibition focuses on sculpture as a living organism and explores the diversity and possibilities of sculptural expression in the works of artists associated with Hokkaido.
