The Rudiments of Ukiyo-e - Learn from the Real Thing

Shizuoka City Tokaido Hiroshige Museum of Art
Finished
Ukiyo-e is recognized as one of the representative cultures of the Edo period that Japan proudly presents to the world. When hearing that word, many people might think of several famous works. Even in modern times, ukiyo-e is incorporated into new banknotes, passports, product packaging, and event visual designs, and surprisingly, it is quite familiar.

This exhibition introduces the "ABCs" of ukiyo-e using authentic ukiyo-e held by the Shizuoka City Tokaido Hiroshige Museum of Art. From the basics to some slightly obscure knowledge, explore the world of ukiyo-e and enjoy a deeper understanding of it.
