This exhibition by Fumiaki Akahane, Keisuke Koizumi and Kanta Matsuo focuses on the fact that the front and back can be distinguished as one of the reasons why both the human body, which is a collection of materials, and paintings are seen as something more than commodities. In biological history, front-back markers are connected to the development of the mouth and anus, which are connected to metabolism, including digestion, and the fact that we are a single tube. Painting can also be considered a tube, since it has a front and a back. As a membrane or tunnel through which the fact of life is projected, painting addresses the question of realism as to why the finite world exists infinitely in a reality that does not neglect the fact that, like the human body, it will deteriorate.
