In commemoration of its 15th anniversary, Kanazawa Art Gummi will hold a solo exhibition featuring Tomomi Adachi, a performer, composer, sound poet, instrument maker, and visual artist from Kanazawa City. Adachi is globally active across a wide range of domains, including solo performances using voice, computer, and self-made instruments, as well as planning and directing exhibitions, commissions, and various performances.
In this exhibition, approximately 10 new works will be displayed, including instruments designed by generative AI (artificial intelligence) and produced in collaboration with sculptor Daigo Omura, along with videos of Adachi playing them. This collaborative production, respecting the "intelligence" of generative AI, is an attempt to explore new musical expressions and corporeality beyond human limits.
During the exhibition period, performances focusing on self-made instruments and the theme of text and voice will be conducted with guest artists from overseas.
