Tomomi Hanzawa
Tomomi Hanzawa has explored the relationship between material and memory through the act of papermaking. Paper is not merely a material, but a structure formed by the intertwining of fibers—an object that embodies human narratives. In this exhibition, Hanzawa begins with the private memories of her grandmother's haiku and garden, yet moves toward the universal question of identity. By what means do we recognize others, and by what means do we maintain our sense of self? Through the material of paper, Hanzawa's practice quietly reveals that identity is not fixed, but rather emerges in a state of flux within our relationships with others.
